Legal and compliance
LAB’s co-created and outcome-focused policies provide a robust framework for governance, quality assurance, and ethical practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, academic integrity, learner protection, and the effective and transparent delivery of qualifications, both nationally and internationally.
Governance Policy
The Governance Policy is embedded across all areas of LAB’s operations and consistently applied at every level. It ensures effective leadership, strong oversight, and clear decision-making, supporting long-term strategy, accountability, and the achievement of the organisation’s academic and organisational objectives. The policy includes clear directions on aspects, such as Conflict of Interest, Risk Management, and Incident Response Procedures.
Financial Management Policy
The Financial Management Policy is implemented through clear procedures and oversight mechanisms across the organisation. It ensures responsible use of resources, financial sustainability, and long-term stability. Guided by transparency, prudence, and value for money, the policy supports strong financial governance and enables LAB to meet its obligations to students, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Compliance and Reporting Policy
The Compliance and Reporting Policy is actively enforced and underpins all institutional activities and decision-making. LAB meets all regulatory and statutory requirements, maintains accurate reporting, and ensures transparency and accountability to regulators, partners, and stakeholders. This includes specific guidance on reporting, notification, and organisational audit.
Health and Safety Policy
The Health and Safety Policy is applied organisation wide. LAB complies with all relevant legislation, promotes a strong culture of safety and wellbeing, and continuously reviews the practices to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
Qualification Development and Design Policy
The Qualification Development and Design Policy ensures qualifications are academically rigorous, industry-relevant, and aligned with national and international benchmarks, supporting quality, consistency, and progression for students. The policy includes guidance on qualification design and recognition of prior learning.
Assessment, Delivery and Awarding Policies
The Assessment, Delivery and Awarding Policy ensures fair, consistent, and robust assessment practices, secure delivery, and reliable awarding processes that protect academic standards as well as the integrity of all qualifications.
Equality and Diversity Policy
Equality and Diversity Policy is adhered to in all aspects of LAB’s governance, management, and operational practice. LAB promotes fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunity, complies with UK equality legislation, and actively prevents discrimination. LAB values diversity and ensures reasonable adjustments and support so everyone can participate and succeed.
Data Protection and Ethics Policy
Data Protection and Ethics Policy is applied organisation wide. LAB protects personal data in line with the UK GDPR and data protection legislation, respects privacy, and handles information responsibly to ensure confidentiality, transparency, and trust for all students, staff, and other stakeholders.
Academic Misconduct and AI Use Policy
The aim of Academic Misconduct and AI Use Policy is to safeguard academic integrity. Students must submit their own independent work, and the ethical use of AI is clearly defined and monitored. Misuse of AI or plagiarism is not permitted, ensuring fairness, credibility, and the integrity of all qualifications.
